THANK YOU, ABBOTSFORD, FOR PUTTING YOUR TRUST IN ME AS A CITY COUNCILLOR.

Making Abbotsford a safer and greener city to live, work, and play... Dr. Bill MacGregor for Abbotsford City Council

Dr. Bill MacGregor was an active youth who enjoyed many sports. He received a full athletic scholarship in football to Boise State in 1968, and moved closer to home to finish his undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University, also with a full athletic scholarship. He was a fourth round draft pick for the BC Lions in 1973. He earned his Master’s of Education from Western Washington University in 1979. In 2000, Bill became a Doctor of Education earning a doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Recently retired from a vivacious, productive, 33-year career in education (5 in Vancouver and 28 in SD#34)) as a teacher and administrator, Bill desires to continue to serve Abbotsford, a city he loves. During his tenure as educator, Bill strived to teach all students their individual worth regardless of physical appearance, intellect or skill. He believes taking this philosophy city-wide will create an even better city to live, work, and play.

Bill is married to Pam, a local real estate team leader. Together they have six children and three grandchildren. Bill currently works as a motivational and/or keynote speaker in education, an executive coach, and an advisor to many current vice principals and principals in BC’s educational system. Besides being involved in his children’s many activities in the community, Bill enjoys raising llamas, walking, cycling, reading, watching football and attempting to stay fit.

A few of the many roles Bill MacGregor has led in our community:

  • Coach of a B.C. High School Championship Team (1984) (and many other semi-finalist teams)

“Bill is a man who will get things done. He knows how to make Abbotsford a city where people will feel good about working, living and playing. We have too many new people working here with the new hospital and expansion on the airport who are living elsewhere. Bill will work hard to make these people feel Abbotsford is a safe place to live.”
